The 7th Annual Irish Memorial 5K Run

Thank You to All the Runners and Volunteers Who Made the 2008 Irish Memorial 5K Run a Great Success!

You braved the steady rain to show your support for the Memorial and we deeply appreciate that. Over 250 runners registered this year - more than any in the Irish Memorial 5K Run's seven year history!

Special thanks to Joe Conklin and the Celtic Flame for wonderful entertainment
and a very special thank you to our MC, Larry Mendte of CBS 3.

And also a special thanks to the staff of Fairmount Park , the Philadelphia Police Department , the Philadelphia Fire Department, Mike McCloskey and Runners' Advocate.

The Irish Memorial 5K Run would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors:

The Board of Directors of City Trusts (www.citytrusts.com)
The City of Philadelphia
Fairmount Park

And to these divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians:

Division 87, Port Richmond
Division 17, Delaware County
Division 39, Msgr. Thomas J. Rilley
Notre Dame Division 1, Montgomery County
and the PA State Board of the AOH

We would also like to thank the Irish pubs and restaurants who generously donated gift certificates and t-shirts, in particular Downey's Drinking House and Dining Saloon who donated gift certificates not only to our raffle but to all of the race winners!

Please patronize these wonderful restaurants and thank them for their contributions to the Irish Memorial 5K Run:

Downey's Drinking House and Dining Saloon, Corner of Front & South Streets
Paddy Whacks Irish Sports Pub, Corner of 2nd & South Streets
Finnigan's Wake, 3rd & Spring Garden Streets
O'Neal's Pub, 611 S. 3rd Streets
