Stories

Do you have a story you would like to share about your Irish ancestors? Maybe you have stories passed down through the generations from the Great Hunger? Or perhaps you are inspired by the history of this tragic time-period in Ireland and its many ramifications for both Ireland and America. Maybe you have visited the Memorial and you would like to share your thoughts about the sculpture park and how the visit impacted you. Whatever you decide, we encourage you to share with us your stories here on the Irish Memorial site. Click on Share your story above, to submit your story to the site. We look forward to hearing from you.

We would like to record, share, and preserve the stories of the Irish experience for everyone to enjoy, learn and cherish. They will appear on this site under Read Stories. If you have an immigration story please share it by simply follow the instructions below. We would like to bring to life, the tales of Irish immigration from young and old alike. Maybe you would like to describe your journey to the United States, or perhaps your leaving Ireland and what made you decide to leave your home and start a new life in America. Whatever you decide to submit, we look forward to reading your stories. See the questions we have posted to the right to help you tell your story, and please include images if available.
